Root Canal Therapy

At the Rowe Dental Clinic, our primary aim is to save your natural teeth. Patients often come with severely decayed teeth that require endodontics to save the tooth. Endodontics is commonly referred to as root canal therapy. Root canal therapy involves the removal of the pulp and then restoring the tooth with a suitable filling material. Dr. Rowe opts for root canals only when the decay has reached the nerve of the tooth, and enough viable tooth remains to give a functional tooth outcome. With over 30 years of experience, our team can provide you with appropriate root canal therapy.

Root canal therapy is recommended over tooth extraction as it helps maintain your natural tooth. In cases where root canal therapy is not recommended, the other option is the extraction of the tooth.

Symptoms of Tooth Decay/Infection

Dr. Rowe recommends regular visits to the dental clinic to avoid tooth decay or any other dental issues. Regular dental visits also help in the early detection, diagnosis and treatment of many serious oral issues, including mouth cancer. It is important to maintain regular dental care in order to minimize possible dental problems or complications. But if you still feel that you might have an infection, look for the following signs:

 Severe toothache

Increased sensitivity to cold and hot drinks

Black or grey spots appear on the tooth

Sharp pain while eating or drinking something sweet

If you notice any of the above symptoms, it is best to contact us for a consultation. The decay can also cause intense pain in your gums, jaws, and surrounding teeth. Depending on the extent of the tooth decay/infection, Dr. Rowe will suggest treatment options.
